Here´s a brief presentation in English of Borås Triathlon. If you need an answer to a specific question, please e-mail race director Jonas Colting at!

Borås Triathlon features a half-Ironman distance race as well as a sprint triathlon.

The half features race categories, including age-groups, as well as a recreational beginner category.
The sprint triathlon feature
an open male category as well as an open female category. We have prize money for the winners of the half as well as awards for the winners of each age-group. No awards are given in the sprint triathlon.

The location of Borås Triathlon is Almenäs which is located just a few minutes from the centre of Borås.
The Almenäs area have great parking access, cafeteria and public toilets.

The half will start 09.00 and the sprint triathlon at 09.45 (preliminary).

The swim is held in Öresjö.
Fresh water with very good quality. Typically the water holds 15-18 degrees during this time of year. The race will follow regulations and recommendations by the Swedish Triathlon Federation in terms of wetuits and water temperature.

The participants in the half will complete two laps with an exit and a very short run between laps. The sprint will complete one lap.
The swim is sheltered and will be supervised by safety boats.
There will be a beach start for both races and the entire field respectively, will start together.
Self seeding is recommended.

The bike course for the half is one lap on a out-and-back course.
45 kilometres with a turnaround.
It’s an undulating course on open roads. It’s very well marked and we have officials at all critical points. Good road surface and for the most, with only light traffic. We have two aid stations offering drinks and sustenance. They’re located at approximately 46 kilometres and 72 kilometres.

The sprint triathlon is held on the same bike course, albeit with a much earlier turnaround!
There is no aid station on the sprint bike course.

Drafting is not allowed. Helmet is mandatory.

The run course is flat, fast and spectator friendly!
Basically half is on pavement and half on gravel.
The half consists of three laps of seven kilometres whereas the sprint completes one lap of five kilometres.
There will be several aid stations each lap.

For those wanting to make something extra of this weekend there’s also a swimrun on Sunday, at the same location.
